Choosing your makeup artist can be a challenge, especially if you’re not the type who wears makeup all the time. We refer our clients to specific makeup artists that suit their personality and taste. Our mission is to make our brides comfortable and satisfied.
We had the pleasure of interviewing the fabulous makeup artist, Gabbie McGuire ,based out of Montreal, Quebec. Here is an excerpt from our interview!
1. What inspired you to become a makeup artist?
My grandmother was the first to inspire me to work in the beauty industry. Even though she did not actually wear anything but lipstick, she was always so elegant. That inspired me to try and provide the same confidence and beauty to my future clients.
2. How many years have you been in the field?
I graduated in 2013,but I have been in the field full time since 2015.
3. What would you say is your specialty when it comes to makeup application?
I specialize in luminous and natural applications and I provide custom blended airbrush services.
4. What can a Bride expect when she books your services?
Upon booking my services, brides can expect a trial run. This gives us a chance to get to know each other and get better acquainted. Also, if a bride prefers that I come to them instead of coming to my studio, I offer mobile services. I always tailor my bookings to the brides’ needs. I work hard to make sure that this part of their day runs smoothly.

5. What do you do differently to make Brides feel special on the day of their wedding?
When booking my services, I provide every bride with a touch up kit to ensure everything lasts all night long.
6. How much time should a bride set aside on the morning of the wedding day?
A bride should forward a detailed list of all the attendants requiring makeup applications to the makeup artist. It is then our job to take care of the schedule. We sometimes even work with the event planner to make sure that the bride does not have to worry about anything.
7. Are there any tips you can recommend to having flawless skin leading up to the wedding day ?
Definitely invest in a skin analysis with a reputable artist! We can create a tailored skin care regimen for you to ensure you are doing everything right up to your big day. Also, do not! and I repeat DO NOT sleep with makeup on your face!

8. What’s the best advice you give your brides?
Keep it simple and timeless! Remember that your pictures are forever.
